SSMCA Operations During Province Wide Workplace Shutdown
Posted: Mar 23, 2020

As you’re aware, today the Premier ordered that all non-essential workplaces must close by tomorrow at 11:59pm.  While the full impacts for the construction industry are still unknown, it’s very unlikely SSMCA would be considered essential.  We are now making the necessary arrangements to continue our operations with all staff members working from home for the foreseeable future.

With that in mind, effective tomorrow at noon the office will be closed until we are permitted to open again.  We are remaining open from 8am-12pm to accommodate the need for any documents to be commissioned, printing requests, or any of our other services.  There are conditions though, only one person will be permitted to enter the office at a time, all surfaces will be disinfected after each visitor, and you must remain a minimum of 2 meters away from association staff.

Further, if you’ve been outside Canada in the past 14 days, OR if you’ve had contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or who has tested positive for the virus OR if you have a fever, cough, or are experiencing shortness of breath, please do not come or attempt to enter the building.

Karen and I will continue to be available to serve our members through this pandemic either by phone or email.  We thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult times.   We will continue to update you all with any new information we receive.

Sincerely,

Adam Pinder

Executive Director
