2020 Board of Directors Elections

The Election Committee of the Sault Ste. Marie Construction Association is established for the purpose of nominating Members for election as directors and presenting a slate of candidates to the Members for consideration at the applicable general meeting.  The 2020 Election committee consists of:

  • Kerri Fryia (Vice-President)
  • Steve Roberts (Immediate Past-President)
  • Peter Reynolds (Outgoing Director)
  • John McDonald (Director)
  • Adam Pinder (Executive Director, Ex-Officio)

The Elections Committee of the Association’s Board of Directors is requesting that any person interested in serving on the Board of Directors from those active members of the Association to submit their name to the Election Committee.  They will replace Adam Zalewski, Megan Scott and Peter Reynolds, whose terms are expiring.

In order to be qualified to be a director of the Sault Ste. Marie Construction Association you must meet the following criteria:

  1. be eighteen (18) or more years of age;
  2. a director, principal or employee of a Member, or shall become a director, principal or employee of a Member within 10 days after the director's election or appointment; and
  3. not be an undischarged bankrupt nor a mentally incompetent person.

Elected Directors will serve a two-year term and are expected to attend monthly Board of Director’s meetings, be involved in sub-committees and participate in association social events when possible.  Most importantly, as a director, you are expected to be an ambassador for the Association, promote our work and better the industry which you work in.

Your Association is guided in its efforts and initiatives by the board, and consequently it’s future direction and success depends on your active input and involvement.  If you have a better idea, a better way, or desire to see your Association to grow to meet the emerging needs of its members or if you know someone who does, the Board needs you.  Be active, get involved.

            Any interested members may submit his or her name to the Election Committee by contacting any member of the committee by phone or email prior to the closing of the nomination period.  Nominations may also be made on another’s behalf to the same people.

Once we have established a list of candidates willing to stand for election to the board, the committee will circulate a ballot to each member in good standing of the association. The three candidates with the most votes will be presented at the Annual General Meeting to commence their term as directors of the association.
