This position reports directly to the President. As part of a Team, the Procurement Manager maintains overall responsibility for the development and execution of strategic inventory objectives necessary to meet in-stock goals, inventory productivity and Vendor performance to support retail, promotional and merchandising programs within your Categories.
Duties & Responsibilities
? Provide direction and support in regards to stock inventory
? Manage inventory flow, to ensure that inventory requirements are met while consistently supporting our stores and customers. (In-stock, sales & space availability requirements).
? Proactively identify costing variances and predict and communicate risks/impacts and recommend actions while maintaining margins at competitive pricing
? Create, document, lead and coordinate with stores the execution of all inventory flow plans associated with Merchandising, flyer activity, and other major promotion or sales events.
? Manage suppliers to meet quality, delivery and specification requirements for optimal total cost.
? Evaluate and report on supplier performance
? Support accounts payable in the resolution of invoice discrepancies
? Identifies and lead cross-functional process improvements within the purchasing function.
? Advise management of inventory interruptions to best minimize customer impact
? Maintain a professional and productive relationship with vendors and management team to ensure awareness of inventory flow changes, inventory opportunities & improved supply chain collaboration.
Required Qualifications
? Superior customer service skills
? Customer Focused
? Professional, outgoing, positive and approachable attitude
? Professional designation Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP), PMAC/SCMP, Supply Chain Management or relative 5 -7 years’ experience considered essential.
? Experience in the lumber and/or building supply industry considered an asset
? Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software
? Superior Analytical Skills
? Strong Leadership & Effective communication skills both written and oral
? Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
? Ability to interface and work closely with a diverse Management Team
? Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task
? Ability to work within the laws, ordinances and regulations within our designated buying groups.
? Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, Bistrack a definite asset
? A well-defined sense of Diplomacy including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, Decision Making and people Management Skills.
