Board of Directors Recognition Award
The Board of Directors of the Sault Ste. Marie Construction Association instituted an Annual Award in 2014 to be given to an individual that, in their view has made a significant contribution to the Community where we live and work in one of the following areas:

Community Leadership – for a member who has devoted their time and efforts to the betterment for the community.

Environmental Achievement – leadership role that a member has taken to promote and undertake exemplary environmental conduct in the construction industry.

Excellence in Innovation – for a member who has implemented innovative construction practices or systems in their respective field.

Outstanding Person – for a member or representative within the company who demonstrates leadership qualities and who applies the highest standards and principles of the construction industry.

Project Achievement – to pay tribute to a member company on a project that exemplifies excellence.

Project Design – for members excelling in engineering, architecture or interior design on a particular or various project.

Trades Development – for a member that supports the trades and development of apprentices and their programs.
Previous recipients of this award include:
2014 – Graham Newman - For his significant contributions and volunteerism with Sault Minor Baseball
2015 – Chris Tossell – For all of his efforts towards the preservation of heritage building stock in Sault Ste Marie.
2016 – Glen Foster – Acknowledging his volunteerism in supporting the Sault Ste. Marie Construction Association having sat on the Board of Directors, as both a director, and Secretary/Treasurer for 15 years.
2017 – Dino Biasucci – Acknowledging him as a leading figure in the construction industry who consistently demonstrates community leadership.
2018 – Adam Lyons – Acknowledging him for demonstrating community leadership through the time and effort he puts into numerous causes for the betterment of the community.
2019 – Dan Valiquette – Acknowledging his significant contributions to many community initiatives, especially the SkiAbility Algoma program.
2021 – Darrell Maahs – Acknowledging his lengthy and significant contributions to the Sault Trailblazers Snowmobile Club and the Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids.
