This program is offered for those workers who use power chainsaws for general ground use. The program is designed to help workers ensure safe and proficient operating practices. Participants are required to bring their own CSA approved head, eye/face shield and foot protection, chainsaw/leather work gloves, ear protection and leg protection/chaps. The participant will not be permitted to participate in the course if they do not bring the noted personal protective equipment and tools.

Workers are often promoted to a supervisory position because of their high-quality work and experience. This program gives provincially regulated workers the training they need to become effective supervisors. Participants will learn how to fulfil their role as a supervisor and about their responsibilities under Ontario law to manage health and safety in the workplace. Once they understand what to do, the program then gives them the tools to meet their health and safety responsibilities and ensure a productive workplace.

A public Open House will take place for the purpose of reviewing the proposed increase to the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s building permit fees. In order to keep the fee in line with actual services costs, a fee increase is proposed effective January 1, 2019.
