Construction 101 is designed to put the pieces of the construction industry puzzle together. Created by the industry and for the industry, this course was developed by the Canadian Construction Association to give participants an opportunity to see how different pieces in the construction industry fit together. This two-day session breaks down the complexity of the construction industry by showing how various stakeholders – owners, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers fit into the industry. You’ll get valuable insight into the various industry stakeholders and their roles/responsibilities, construction documents and contracts, risk management, construction law, bidding and tendering. You will also engage in learning activities that will enable you to appreciate project delivery from concept to closeout. This course has been designed to help you understand ethics as it relates to the construction industry.
