It’s no surprise that senior industry leaders are beginning to plan their exit from construction. With this loss, not only is it important that our young leaders be ready to take the helm, but that they absorb the vast amounts of knowledge exiting with these professionals.  Construction 101 is designed to put the pieces of the construction industry puzzle together. Participants have called this session a master’s course in construction because of the vast and valuable information included.

Created by the industry and for the industry, this course was developed by the Canadian Construction Association to give participants an opportunity to see how different pieces in the construction industry fit together.   This two-day session breaks down the complexity of the construction industry by showing how various stakeholders – owners, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers fit into the industry. You’ll get valuable insight into the various industry stakeholders and their roles/responsibilities, construction documents and contracts, risk management, construction law, bidding and tendering.  You will also engage in learning activities that will enable you to appreciate project delivery from concept to closeout. All skills are aimed to help your company be more efficient and effective in improving the bottom line.
