2018 Board of Directors Election
CANDIDATE PROFILES

Aaron Wise  Aaron Wise, Equipment World

I have over 25 years of managerial experience in the manufacturing and industrial/construction supply industries. For the past 6 years, I have been the Regional Manager for Equipment World Inc.  I take pride in being a progressive thinker who focuses on continuous improvement to build effective teams and companies.  As a lifelong Saultite, I understand the uniqueness of the North and Sault Ste. Marie.  I welcomes the opportunity to bring my solution-focused energy and collaborative approach to the Board of the Construction Association.

Adam Zalewski  Adam Zalewski, Ontario Concrete Finishing

Adam is the current construction manager for Ontario Concrete Finishing. A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University class of 2009 he acquired his BBA in finance and insurance. He was employed by AON Reed Stenhouse Commercial Insurance Brokers for all three of his co-op terms while at school, and upon graduation became a full time employee. While there a portion of his tenure was spent working in the Construction Department which concentrated on insurance and bonding.

In 2010 he returned home and became employed by Ontario Concrete. First as a labourer, followed by concrete finisher and cost manager, until finally being promoted to his current role as construction manager which he has held for the past 5 years. Adam feels that the local construction industry is one of the municipality’s greatest strengths and contributors. He hopes to contribute by helping to facilitate and encourage others to bridge the gap between the wisdom and knowledge of the older generation with the energy and eagerness of the next.

Bryce Gavin, IDEA Inc.

My name is Bryce Gavin, I’m 29 years old, born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie. I’ve been in construction my entire life with experience in all aspects. I am an Electrical Technician and Licensed Construction & Maintenance Electrician by trade.  I have most recently been working in the Consulting/Engineering side of construction where I have obtained my Commissioning Certification (ASHRAE , CPMP). I look forward to being further involved with our communities construction and sharing my knowledge and experience with all involved.

MeganScott  Megan Scott, Trimount Construction Group

Coming from a family with generations in construction (Mike Rainone Trucking, Palmer Construction) I had the opportunity to work at my father’s company at an early age.  After university, I began working at Palmer Construction in administration and accounting for eight years.  My tasks were not limited to this.  You would often see me working the scale at the gravel pit, visiting the job site and attending tender results.  I have a wide range of experience that expands beyond the office. After completing a two-year contract with KPMG LLP, I recently began working full-time along-side my husband, at his locally owned company Trimount Construction Group Inc.

My family has always been involved in the community and one of the reasons that I strive to do the same.  I can recall going to events with my father and people coming up to chat with him or volunteering with my mother and sisters. I want to be able to help out in the community, especially in this industry which I grew up loving and being a part of.

PeterReynolds  Peter Reynolds, Dawson and Keenan Insurance Ltd.

I have been in the insurance industry for 17 years.  The past 14 years have been dedicated to Commercial Insurance.  I have recently been featured in D&K online commercial newsletters, “We Know Contractors Insurance” as an expert on the topic.  My knowledge of all aspects of construction insurance would be an asset to the board and association.

StevenMitchell  Steve Mitchell, Algoma Insurance Brokers

Upon completion of my Bachelor of Commerce, I followed a passion for golf into the earthwork construction industry.  Working as a Site Supervisor/Jr. Estimator with Vergeer Golf Inc. and KCM Construction, we specialized in sport field and golf course construction.  I them went into heavy civil construction, joining North America Construction as a Project Coordinator and most recently completing the Timiskaming Dam Replacement Project.

I offer a unique combination of sound construction knowledge and insurance expertise.  I believe I would diversify the Board of Directors and would help Develop & Promote our association and its highly qualified contractors.
